100 Days of school!

Congratulations to all Foundation student on completing 100 Days of School. Throughout the day students participated in an assembly, mini parade, dance party, number 100 maths games and finished the day eating a delicious cupcake. All students looked fantastic and we thank you for supporting your child in their first 100 days of school.

Book Week Author Visit

Prep, Year One and Year 2 students will welcome local Ballarat children’s author Elyse Hunt on Tuesday 22nd August for Book Week. Elyse will run a session with the children which will include reading her debut book Astrid's Big Day, which was released last year. The book tells the tale of Astrid the dog and follows her emotional experiences throughout her day.

As a special offer for Miners Rest Primary School students - signed copies of the book can be purchased for $17 (retail $20) via the link below and given out on the day of the visit. Books can also be purchased on the day, or from Ballarat's local book stores.

Father’s Day Stall

The Father's Day Stall is now open for orders on the Qkr app.  All gifts are $6 each.  The stall is being held on Friday 1st September.  Orders need to be in by Friday 25th August, with no late orders accepted.

What is coming up?

• During this week, Kinder classes will begin to visit the foundation classrooms. Foundation students will share their favourite part of school and will teach the kinder students how to play ‘Race to 100’. 
• Monday 21st August – Book Week Dress Up Parade
• Tuesday 22nd August – Book Week Author Visit
• Tuesday 12th September – Werribee Open Range Zoo excursion (please keep an eye out this week for a permission note)
