Year One/Two News 

Last week, 1/2 students completed their Narrative Writing!

These wonderful narratives are now on display around the Millie Building. Students learned all about the structure, how to describe their character and how to write their setting. Students are extremely proud of their writing. 

Please feel free to pop in so your child can share their narrative with you! 

Book Week Author Visit

Prep, Year One and Year 2 students will welcome local Ballarat children’s author Elyse Hunt on Tuesday 22nd August for Book Week. Elyse will run a session with the children which will include reading her debut book Astrid's Big Day, which was released last year. The book tells the tale of Astrid the dog and follows her emotional experiences throughout her day.

As a special offer for Miners Rest Primary School students - signed copies of the book can be purchased for $17 (retail $20) via the link below and given out on the day of the visit. Books can also be purchased on the day, or from Ballarat's local book stores.
