rep Newsletter - A Fantastic Start to Term 2!
We have had a wonderful start to Term 2 in Prep! The students have returned with great enthusiasm and are settling beautifully back into classroom routines. In Literacy, we have been reviewing our phonics knowledge and have also introduced a new sound and letter – N /n/ and P /p/.
Students have been enjoying exploring words that begin with N and practicing their letter formation. We have also started learning and practicing our first set of sight words:

- The
- In
These words are an important part of building confidence in reading and writing, and we are so proud of everyone's efforts.
In Numeracy, we are revising numbers up to 20 and focusing on number recognition, counting, and correct number formation. Students are working hard to strengthen their confidence when reading, writing, and ordering numbers.
In Inquiry, we have been learning about community helpers and the important roles they play in keeping us safe and supported. The children have especially loved exploring how different people in our community help others every day. We are also very excited for our very first incursion this term with the firefighters! This was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about fire safety and the important work firefighters do in our community. It has been a fantastic beginning to the term, and we look forward to all the exciting learning ahead!
