WEEK 2 | TERM 2

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 2. We hope you and your family enjoyed a restful break and are ready for another exciting term of learning.

As we begin the term, we would like to share an update about how we support positive behaviour at school. Our goal is to maintain a safe, respectful, and consistent learning environment where every student can thrive. Last term, staff worked collaboratively to revise our Behaviour Matrix, Minor and Major Behaviours, and Behaviour Response Continuum to ensure expectations are clear and consistent for students, staff, and families.

We encourage families to review these expectations with their child as we start the term and discuss what respectful and responsible behaviour looks like both at school and in the wider community.

1. Behaviour Matrix

The Behaviour Matrix outlines expected behaviours across key areas of school life. It helps students understand what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible in different settings.

✅ Tip for families: Ask your child how they can demonstrate these behaviours at school this term.

2. Minor and Major Behaviours

To help students understand the impact of their actions, behaviours are classified as Minor or Major. This helps ensure responses are fair, consistent, and focused on learning from mistakes.

✅ Tip for families: Talk with your child about why some behaviours have a greater impact and how they can make positive choices.

3. Behaviour Response Continuum

The Behaviour Response Continuum explains how staff respond consistently to student behaviour. Students learn what to expect and how they can reflect, repair, and make better choices moving forward.

✅ Tip for families: Ask your child what strategies they can use if they find themselves in a challenging situation.

How Families Can Support This Term

  • Talk about expectations using the Behaviour Matrix.
  • Discuss respectful and safe choices at home and in the community.
  • Encourage problem-solving by asking, “What would you do if…?”
  • Celebrate positive behaviour and effort.
  • Help your child set a positive behaviour goal for Term 2.

🏥 School Nurse Program – Term 3

We are excited to welcome the School Nurse Program in Term 3 for all Prep students. The program includes general health and development checks to support student wellbeing.

To participate, parents will need to:

  • Register their child
  • Complete a health questionnaire prior to the nurse's visit

More information and instructions on how to register will be sent home soon. Your timely response will help us ensure that every child receives the care they need.

Regards,
