From the Director of Junior School

Mrs Melissa Thirgood

Dear Families,

It has been another busy and successful term in our Junior School. From celebrating the joys of reading through Book Week to the achievement and camaraderie seen on the athletics track with the Prep to Year 6 Athletics Carnival, it has been a term to celebrate and reflect upon with pride.

For our final week of the term, our Year 6 students have travelled to our nation's capital for our Canberra trip. Students during this trip are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia's history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government is contributing funding to our school in the amount of $300 per student under the Parliament of Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

Sneak peek: Enjoy these photos of our students enjoying their time at the Australian Institute of Sport and learning all about the origins of Canberra at the National Capital Exhibition.
