With the conclusion of Term 3 upon us, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on a term filled with learning, achievement and memorable experiences for our students, staff and families.
One of the great privileges of education is witnessing young people grow as they discover their passions, develop their strengths and navigate the challenges that come with learning and life. Throughout Term 3, our students have embraced a wide range of opportunities with enthusiasm, courage and a positive attitude. Whether participating in Book Week activities, class excursions, sporting teams, liturgies or everyday classroom experiences, they have represented St Mary’s College with pride and made the most of each opportunity.
Growth comes in many forms, and every student has their own story to tell. For some, success has been reflected in academic achievement, while for others it has been seen in greater confidence, stronger friendships, increased independence or the resilience to overcome setbacks. The challenges our young people encounter are not always easy, but they often provide the greatest opportunities for personal development. We are incredibly proud of the determination, character and perseverance our students continue to demonstrate as they strive to become the very best version of themselves.
This term has also highlighted the strength of our community. Whether supporting learning at home, volunteering at events, coaching sport, assisting with excursions, attending the Cocktail Fundraiser and Auction, or partnering with us in your child’s education, your contribution enriches the life of our school. Strong relationships between families and staff are central to student success, and we thank you for your ongoing support.
As we approach the holiday break, many families will welcome the opportunity to slow the pace and enjoy a change of routine. School terms can be demanding for students and families alike, with a constant balance of learning, extracurricular activities, work commitments and family life. The coming weeks provide a valuable chance to rest, reconnect and spend quality time together. For our senior students – particularly those completing vocational pathways, TCE requirements or preparing for TASC examinations – this period may also offer dedicated time for study and preparation. I hope the break brings both renewal and the focus, confidence and perseverance needed to finish the year strongly.
Looking ahead, Term 4 promises to be both busy and rewarding. With camps, Pillars experiences, transition visits, Step‑Up Days, Graduation, Christmas celebrations and end‑of‑year events still to come, there is much to anticipate. The final term always seems to pass quickly, bringing a mixture of excitement, anticipation and reflection. We look forward to supporting all students as they make the most of the opportunities ahead and conclude the year positively.

As we head into Term 4, we would like to remind families that all students are required to wear hats during outdoor activities. Even on overcast days, UV levels can be dangerously high, making sun protection essential.
To support our sun safety practices:
As Term 3 concludes, I would like to thank all students, staff and families for their support, commitment and contribution throughout the term. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday break and hope the coming weeks provide opportunities to recharge, spend time with loved ones and create lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting and successful Term 4.
