Arabian Nights Production
This year should have traditionally been a ‘non production’ year at Patterson River Secondary College. However, the Performing Arts team wanted to bring in a new tradition of a smaller performance in the ‘off’ year. This year we presented a collaborative cabaret style performance showcasing the excellence of the Performing Arts department at Patterson River Secondary College. We called it “Arabian Nights”. Featuring the production band, soloist dancers, singers, musicians and the production of ‘Aladdin Jr’.
We hope you enjoyed ‘Arabian Nights” as much as we enjoyed presenting it to you. There have been months of preparations, behind the scenes blood, sweat and tears, and a whole lot of teamwork to create this highly successful performance. We couldn’t have asked for a better cast and crew. Their commitment and support of one another has been phenomenal and a true testament to each of their characters.
A huge thank you to all of you who helped with Lighting and Sound, Backstage, Costuming, Hair and Makeup, Props and Sets, Programs, Photography and Recording, Front of House, Administration, Wellbeing and of course you, our family and friends, who came along to see the show. We are forever grateful for all the support you have given us.
Seaford Seniors
On Wednesday 24th of July, the College Stage Band was invited to play at the Senior’s morning tea at the Seaford Community Centre. The event was hosted by Jodie Balyea MP, in which she recognised the sense of community spirit in the Dunkley electorate, particularly in the Seaford area - with a large majority of citizens involved in volunteering and giving back to the community. The band played a rousing set of songs and were received very well by the audience, they even received invitations to play at private events! A big shoutout to local café 18-Eightyeight, for looking after our students and helping to celebrate the birthdays of two of our star players – Ashley C and Evelyn M.

The Battle of the Bands - Senior Division, was proudly hosted by Patterson River Secondary College on Monday 12th August in the Performing Arts Ccentre. Over 25 Bands from 15 different schools competed for prizes including Best Band, Best Original Song, Best Stage Presence and Best Musician. Competing bands from our school included – Girlband, Chrome G’s and the Clown Hands Blues Band, which were all comprised of students in Years 10-12. Although we didn’t take any prizes, all our bands commanded the stage and were a hit with the audience. Well done to all the bands who performed!
