Kunga Kunpu- Strong Women Excursion

We had the pleasure of taking 20 Art students from across year 7-12 to the fantastic Strong Women Exhibition at the Bundjil Place Gallery on 17th July as a way of marking and celebration NAIDOC week in the Visual Arts domain. The exhibition featured an inspiring selection of Indigenous Australian paintings, sculptures and animations. Students enjoyed an informative talk run by the gallery staff, where we learned about the stories behind some of the powerful artworks on display and developed a deeper appreciation and understanding of First Nations Art and culture. This excursion was also planned by our Senior Visual Arts Leaders Jack K, Ned C and Yunah K.

 Art Club!

Remember that Art Club is running during lunchtimes in ART3 on the following days:

Yr7-10 Art Club day is Wednesday and VCE Art Club is Thursday.

Come along to create some artworks, meet other creative students, and have fun!

You can spend time in Art Club working on entries to the Art competitions we have been promoting too!

Melbourne Street Art Excursion

The brainchild of our Senior Art Leaders Jack K, Ned C and Yunah K, and planned by Year 12 work placement Art Assistant  Brodie G, our First Street Art Excursion was a hit! A group of students from Years 7-12 were selected to attend the inaugural street art excursion ran by the team at Blender Studios. Starting with an informative and engaging tour of street art across the city, students then travelled to the studios to attend a workshop on stencilling and spray painting. At the end of the day each student was able to take home their own artwork and stencil, a fantastic memento from a great day.

We were also lucky enough to have been invited to provide approximately 60 pieces of additional artwork to display in adjoining gallery for the duration of the Youth Art expo. This includes a selection of Year 7 self portraits and Year 9 &11 Ceramic works. We were very proud to attend the opening event and see so many community members enjoying the exhibition. Get along and check it out!
