LRC Update 04/08/26

We are excited about Children’s Book Week coming up on the 22nd to 28th of August. The theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’ celebrates the diversity and richness of storytelling. We have many of the shortlisted titles in our library. Junior students are listening to some of these books in their library lessons & finding out more about wonderful Australian authors.  

During book week we will have some special activities such as: 

• Guess the book cover,

• Scavenger hunt around the library, 

• Special quizzes,

• Book themed craft,

• Visiting slam poet Will Small.

We have an exciting student podcast coming up soon, recorded by year 9 students, ‘Beyond the Blurb’. This will be released on our LRC website soon.  

LRC Update 28/8/26

We have had fun celebrating Children’s Book Week in the Learning Resource Centre. The theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’ celebrated the diversity and richness of storytelling. We have many of the winning titles in our library, please come visit and check them out. 

During book week we: 

• Had guest author/poet Will Small perform for year 7 students. 

• Played games such as; Guess the book cover, Scavenger hunt, 

Match the music with the story part, did Bookmark designs & drew book characters. 

In other exciting news, we have a student podcast soon to be released. This was recorded by year 9 students & is titled ‘Beyond the Blurb’. In the first episode our students discussed and compared the novels, “The Fault in our Stars” by John Green & “Five Feet Apart” by Rachael Lippincott & Mikki Daughtry.
