Fern House

Hi everyone, I’m Serah, one of the Year 9 SRCs. Being an SRC has given me the opportunity to represent our House, listen to students' ideas, and contribute to making our school community a positive place.

Welcome to Term 3! I hope everyone has settled in well. This term is full of opportunities to get involved, whether it's through Athletics Day, lunchtime activities, or supporting House events. These are great chances to meet new people, challenge yourself, and show some House spirit.

Congratulations to all Year 9 students who recently completed their Course Counselling interviews. Choosing subjects for next year is an important step, and I hope everyone feels confident about the pathway they've chosen. Good luck with the rest of the term and all the opportunities ahead.

As SRCs, we're always looking for ways to improve student life, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, don't hesitate to speak with one of us. I hope everyone has a successful and enjoyable Term 3, and I look forward to seeing our House get involved in everything this term has to offer.

Fern

Hello!🤗 My name is Lea Gajendra, and I am the Year 8 SRC for Fern. 

Being SRC is an interesting role to have. You get more involved in events, like Swimming Carnival, Chorals or Athletics, and you get to know other people in different year levels of your House. You gain confidence by learning to talk in front of your class and sharing ideas during meetings and learn to help make more decisions for fundraising. I am really happy to be SRC for Fern.

Term 3 has been great too! The Athletics Carnival was probably one of our highlights, with having multiple competitors from Fern House. It was so fun seeing everyone dress up in green to represent Fern, and show good sportsmanship to other students, even if they were in different Houses. Even if Fern wasn’t the top 3, we still did so amazing with the amount of effort we put in. Hopefully next year, we have more participants!

Going forward, we have started an afterschool noodles fund raising. On Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, you can come to Fern and buy a yummy cup of noodles for your way home. Every now and then, we also do a “Guess the number of Lollies” jar, where you can just use a gold coin to put your guess in. These fundraisers are simple but fun, and they are easy to join in with as well.

Term 3 is beginning to come to an end, but I hope everyone has made good progress in their learning this term. Term 4 will be more busy with Smart Start, but hopefully everyone takes the holidays for a time to recharge and relax. Remember to be getting proper sleep and keeping up with eating habits. As Term 4 will be much warmer, I hope everyone is drinking water and staying sunsmart. And I hope everyone has a restful and happy holiday. See you all in Term 4!!!
