大 家 好 (Hello Everyone) and welcome back!
dà jiā hǎo
It has been a wonderful start to the term, and students have jumped straight back into their Mandarin learning with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Foundations have explored key elements of storytelling including characters, settings in traditional Chinese folktales. Students demonstrated their understanding by drawing about characters from the stories with using simple key vocabulary.
Year One and Two have been learning how to recognise and use three-digit numbers in Chinese. They reinforced their understanding through hands-on activities such as dice and domino games, which provided an engaging and interactive way to practise number patterns.
Year Three students have been focusing on location based sentence structures. They applied their learning by creating colourful posters, combining sentence writing with illustrations to show understanding of place and position.
Year Six students have revised high frequency vocabulary and begun applying their knowledge to create holiday posters. They focused on constructing simple sentences and presenting information creatively, strengthening both their language and communication skills.
It’s been a fantastic two weeks, and we are looking forward to seeing students continue to grow their Mandarin skills throughout the term!
