Year Three

Text Study: Brindabella
The Year Threes have had a very exciting start to the term. This term in Text Study, we have begun reading Brindabella, written by Ursula Dubosarsky. We are lucky enough to each have our very own copy of the book! We have been taking a deep dive into each chapter, looking closely at the vocabulary, the characters and settings, and the key messages.
Our vocabulary has grown as we have learnt the meanings of new words such as verandah, astonishment, gurgling, and fiercely. These words have been added to our Text Study Vocabulary books, where we have been writing the definitions, synonyms, putting words in sentences, and even drawing pictures to explain the words.
We have even had to build our resilience, whilst reading some chapters that make us feel sad. But mostly, Brindabella has made us curious of what it would be like to be the character Pender, who gets to help raise a pet joey!
We cannot wait to read more and are so excited to discover what else we will learn.
