Robotics Students Take on Their First Competition of the Year

Our Year 7 and 8 Robotics students recently competed in their first VEX Robotics Competition of the year at Hampton Park Secondary College.

With the competition fast approaching, students were frantically putting the finishing touches on their robots. In true robotics fashion, some teams were still making final adjustments right up until the last minute!

The competition provided a valuable learning experience for our students. They discovered that being organised and managing their time effectively is just as important as building the robot itself. They also learnt that a competitive robot needs to be able to score points repeatedly and consistently, rather than simply working once.

Overall, it was a great first practice competition and an excellent opportunity for students to test their designs, learn from their mistakes and experience the excitement of robotics competition. We look forward to seeing how much our teams can improve throughout the year!
