The K4's Excursion to Kew Traffic School

The Possums and Koala Kindergarten classes recently enjoyed an exciting excursion to Kew Traffic School, where we continued our learning about road safety and how to stay safe as pedestrians, passengers, and riders. The children explored the miniature road network, practising important road rules by riding bikes and scooters around the track. 

They had lots of fun using the traffic lights, stopping at crossings, and learning how to navigate the roads safely, just like in the real world. These hands-on experiences helped the children develop their understanding of road safety, decision-making, and the importance of following rules to keep themselves and others safe.

There was so much more to discover at Kew Traffic School! The children loved dressing up as community helpers, including firefighters and police officers, and using their imaginations in the little cubby buildings designed as a police station, post office, fire station, and other familiar community places. A highlight for many was exploring and playing on the mini tram, train, and bus. Through role play, cooperative play, and real-life experiences, the children developed their understanding of how communities work, the important roles people play in helping others, and how we can all contribute to keeping our communities safe. 

It was a fantastic day filled with learning, exploration, and fun.
