INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

Victorian State School Spectacular

Congratulations Erin Allison (Year 12) for representing LHS in the orchestra for this year’s concert at John Cain Arena in September.

This was Erin’s second year as one of two oboists which is a fantastic effort. We are sure that the VSSS crew will miss you next year.

LHS ‘The Voice’

Congratulations to Callum Eade (Year 7), Taylah Mae Gundry (Year 10), Ayla Harnett (Year 11) and Anais Pacinotti (Year 11) for their outstanding performances in ‘The Voice’ final earlier this term.

It was an extremely tight finish, but the overall winner, by unanimous votes, was York Newell (Year 8) with his rendition of Elton John’s, ‘I’m Still Standing’. Congratulations York!

Encore! 2023

Our big concert finale was held in Week 2 of this term, showcasing our larger bands including the LHS, Stage and Funk Bands, LHS Choir, Percussion and Guitar Ensembles. Rock bands NËTA, ABC and our Year 7 Rock Band also performed.

Congratulations to all the students who played on the night and thank you to our wonderful Instrumental Music teachers for supporting the students throughout the year.

NEVR Rookie Band Workshop

Last Friday, Lilydale High School hosted this year's NEVR Rookie Band Workshop for all beginning band students in the North-East Victorian region.

Students from Glen Waverley SC, Highvale SC, Mount Waverley SC, Norwood SC, Rowville SC, Upper Yarra SC and Vermont SC joined our Stage Band students in the PAC for a fun day of music workshops, tutorials and rehearsals before presenting 3 pieces to family and friends at the end of the day.

It was incredible to hear such a high standard of music, professionally conducted by the amazing Emily Furlong.

Well done to everyone who was involved!
