THEATRE STUDIES

Girl Asleep

On Thursday October 19, the Unit 2 Theatre Studies class presented their production of 'Girl Asleep' written by Australian playwright Matthew Whittet.

This play revolves around the character Greta Driscoll, a shy and privately falling apart teenager. Frozen in the spotlight of her fifteenth birthday, things go from bad to worse when a stranger arrives, propelling her into a parallel place.

From the wry, warm and wonderfully distinctive voice of Matthew Whittet comes a play about being lost in the jungle of teenagerdom and coming out the other side.

The students involved in this production completed this as part of their assessment for VCE Theatre Studies.

Each student was responsible for applying two production roles from the following: Acting, Direction, Costume, Set Design, Props, Make-up, Sound and Lighting. They applied each role throughout the entire production process including Planning, Development and Presentation.

Everything that the audience had the privilege to observe on stage, had been created by the students.

The final performance was a huge success and evidence of the outstanding efforts of this group of create and talented students.

Huge thanks to the audience who attended the show.
