Student Safety – Travel To and From School
At Frankston High School, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and the broader community. Recently, we have received feedback from local residents regarding student safety when travelling to and from school. This provides an important opportunity to reinforce safe and responsible behaviours with our students.
We ask for your support in discussing the following expectations with your child:
Bicycles
Students are permitted to ride bicycles to school, provided they follow key safety requirements:
- Wear a properly fitted helmet at all times, securely fastened
- Walk bicycles when entering and leaving school grounds
- Do not ride bicycles on school grounds
Students who do not meet these expectations may have their bicycle held until it is collected by a parent or carer.
Scooters, E-Scooters, E-Bikes and Skateboards
These are not permitted at school and must not be used to travel to or from Frankston High School.
Families should also be aware that e-scooters and e-bikes are subject to strict Victorian road rules, including age restrictions, speed limits, and helmet requirements. Many devices commonly used by students are not legal for use on public roads or footpaths.
Any student who brings one of these items to school will have it held until it is collected by a parent or carer.
Thank you for your support in reinforcing these expectations and helping to keep our community safe.
