KOKODA EXPEDITION | Trivia Night

Frankston High School Community Rallies Behind Inaugural Kokoda Expedition
Frankston High School proudly celebrated a remarkable evening of community spirit and generosity at its inaugural Kokoda Track Expedition Trivia Night, held on Friday 27 March. With over 200 guests in attendance, the event was a resounding success, bringing together families, staff, and supporters in a shared commitment to an extraordinary student journey.
The night was filled with energy, laughter, and friendly competition, alongside an impressive array of prizes and auction items valued at more than $7,000. Thanks to the overwhelming support of the school community and local businesses as the total raised on Friday night after expenses was $11,694.90 making it one of the largest fundraising events ever at Frankston High School to support the 21 students preparing to take on the Kokoda Track later this year.
In November, these students will embark on the gruelling 96km trek through the rugged terrain of Papua New Guinea. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will see them walk in the footsteps of the brave soldiers who fought during World War II, while confronting a physical and mental challenge completed by less than 1% of the population. The expedition is not only a test of endurance, but also a powerful opportunity for personal growth, resilience, and historical reflection.
The students’ fundraising efforts will continue in the coming weeks. They will attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service as a mark of respect and remembrance, followed by taking charge of the Bunnings sausage sizzle on Sunday 26 April—another important initiative to help them reach their fundraising goals. We encourage all members of the community to come down, buy a sausage, and support the students in their fundraising efforts.
Frankston High School extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to making the trivia night such a memorable and impactful event. We would also like to acknowledge and thank our generous community sponsors whose support played a vital role in the success of the evening:
