JUNIOR SCHOOL | Update

Dear Parents/Carers, Students And Friends
I would like to thank our students and families for the positive start they have made to the year. It has been pleasing to see students consistently demonstrating our core values of Responsibility, Respect, Empathy, and Resilience in their learning and interactions. These values, alongside our pillars of Community, Aspiration, and Excellence, continue to underpin a strong and supportive Junior School culture, where students are encouraged to strive for their best while contributing positively to those around them.
Our Year 7 students have made an outstanding start to secondary school, with their recent camp providing valuable opportunities to build connections, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Our Year 8 students have embraced a variety of co-curricular activities, excursions, and the Project Rocket incursion, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and a strong commitment to their learning.
A special congratulations to all students in 8B, who won the Term 1 home group competition, reflecting their consistent demonstration of our school values.
Congratulations to all Year 7 and 8 students who achieved 100% attendance throughout Term 1! Their commitment was celebrated with a special pizza lunch during the final week of the term. Consistent attendance is so important as it helps students fully engage in their learning, build strong routines, and make the most of every opportunity at school.
At Frankston High School, our three core pillars include Aspiration, Community, and Excellence. They shape our approach to learning, wellbeing, and personal growth, helping to foster a positive and supportive school culture.
To celebrate students who embody these pillars, we are proud to introduce our Pillar Awards. These awards recognise individuals who consistently demonstrate the values that define our school community.

At Frankston High School, our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Empathy guide our expectations for behaviour and relationships. These values help students understand what it means to belong, contribute positively to our community, and support one another. They are explicitly taught and consistently reinforced by staff in everyday interactions.
- Respect: Acting safely, kindly, and fairly.
- Responsibility: Making positive choices and owning our actions.
- Resilience: Embracing challenges and persevering through them.
- Empathy: Being inclusive and compassionate towards others.

Year 7 Camp – Phillip Island Adventure Camp
A heartfelt thank you to all staff who supported and attended the Year 7 Camp last week. Their energy, care, and commitment ensured a positive and memorable experience for our students. I would like to especially acknowledge the outstanding leadership of our Year 7 Coordinators – Ms Sam Cody, Ms Holly Quinn, and Ms Melody Westlake – whose organisation and guidance were central to the success of the camp. The program’s smooth running reflects the time, planning, and dedication invested by the team.
The camp provided students with a wonderful opportunity to develop strongerconnections with their peers and staff, build confidence, and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. Students engaged in a variety of activities including canoeing, the high ropes course, flying fox, giant swing, beach sessions, and evening activities, all designed to encourage teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.
Frankston Tech School – Year 8 STEAM excursions
At the end of Term 1 our Year 8 STEAM students participated in the H2GO program at the new Frankston Tech School. Students ‘split’ water and used the hydrogen to produce clean electricity, which powered the motor of the boat they collaboratively designed and created. Thank you to Ms Sarah Edwards and Ms Julia Cafiso for overseeing the organisation of the excursions, and to the staff who attended these workshops with STEAM classes.
Thank you to our staff for their dedication and to our families for their ongoing support. We wish all our students, families, and staff a safe and joyful Easter break. Enjoy the holidays, and we look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 2!
