Foundation

Literacy
We have started off Term 4 strongly in Foundation. We continue our daily practise of letter formations using dotted thirds and practising spelling one and two-syllable words that begin or end with a blend sound such as 'sniff', 'smell' and 'tricky'.
We have been learning about different Australian animals and writing information texts about them. During reading sessions, we have been reading and discussing nonfiction texts about dingoes and wedge-tailed eagles, and then using the information we have learned, to help us in our writing.
Numeracy
We have been learning all about grouping and sharing during maths lessons. We have really enjoyed using hands-on materials to investigate which numbers can be shared 'fairly'. The Foundation students have really loved testing out which numbers work and which ones don't work.
We are looking forward to learning more about Australian animals during our excursion to Healesville Sanctuary next week! Students need to make sure that they bring their lunch, a drink bottle, a small backpack and a hat to the excursion. A big thank you to the parents whom have volunteered to come along and help us!
