Level 3

Welcome back to the last term of the year!
It’s wonderful to see everyone back and ready for Term 4! Students have already made a fantastic start and continue to show their readiness to learn each day.
Literacy
In writing, students have been writing narratives set in space and completing mini, bite-sized writing challenges to strengthen their writing skills. In reading, we have been building our knowledge of space while learning new comprehension strategies that students can apply when reading their own novels.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, students have been exploring numbers up to 10,000, developing their understanding of place value, expanding and regrouping numbers, and revising strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We have been encouraging students to explain their thinking and choose effective strategies to solve problems. They have also been working on a space mission, applying different mathematical concepts along the way.
Inquiry
Our Inquiry learning has focussed on “Be Well to Do Well”, exploring how our wellbeing supports our learning and everyday lives. We have also been investigating “Paddock to Plate”, learning about where our food comes from and the journey it takes from farms to our tables.
