Visual Arts

Welcome to Semester Two, Visual Arts!
It’s shaping up to be a wonderfully creative semester with so many projects to get stuck into! For those of you whose children have Visual Arts in Semester Two and/or are new to the Visual Arts program at ENPS, allow me to sum up briefly what your child may experience in this class.
Students will get the opportunity to explore a wide variety of different art mediums such as:
Drawing
Painting
Printing
Threads & Textiles
Construction
Clay
Collage
Mixed Media, including Media Arts
This week, Foundation students in FKJ and FTW began by exploring painting and printing using a variety of different materials. For all other year levels, the students will continue to further develop their art skills, as well as learn new skills, in these areas. To gain further information on what each year level can expect this term in the Visual Arts, check out the Year Level Flyer which was posted on Compass or will be, shortly.
During the first art session, we inquired into the School Wide Positive Behaviours (SWPB) of Safe, Kind and Respectful and looked for ways that we can demonstrate these behaviours in the Visual Arts space. We have also been inquiring into how we can become artists who are responsible for our space and materials, curious about the world around us, resilient to any problems we might face, and reflective of our own learning.
I am looking forward to another exciting semester with some more exciting works destined for the school grounds.
But for now, please enjoy the artworks created by our adventurous Foundation artists in FKJ and FTW last week.
Cheers,
Nicki Myszka
