Term 1 Sports Report

Lightning Premiership 

On Friday 13th March our Year 5/6 Interschool Sporting teams competed at the Summer Lightning Premiership at Mentone Grammar Playing Fields.  Cheltenham had 7 of our 8 teams competing for the District Championship in A Grade.

 

The day was filled with lots of fun moments and excellent skills!

 

Final results 

1st Place - Boys Tennis and Girls Cricket 

2nd Place - Girls Volleyball, Girls and Boys Tee Ball 

3rd Place - Girls Tennis and Boys Cricket 

8th Place - Mixed Volleyball 

 

Congratulations to our 2 district champions (Boys Tennis and Girls Cricket) they will progress to Kingston Division In Term 4.

House Cross Country 

Last Friday (20th March) presented a challenge for our House Cross Country Day. Runners braved the cold and windy conditions to compete for their house and earn a spot in the District Cross Country team. 

 

Runners who placed in the top 12 in their race earned points for their house and the fastest 9 times in both Boys and Girls 9/10, 11 and 12/13 year old age groups will be considered for the Disrict Cross Country team in Term 2. Provisional Results are up on the PE noticeboard outside the Hall.

The Foundation-Year 2 students also ran a Runathon, completing as many laps as possible in a 10 minute time period. We had a magnificent turnout of support, with many parents attending the event and encouraging our students.

District and Division Swimming 

A few weeks ago, the District Swimming team competed at Mentone Girls Grammar, we had some wonderful performances from our team resulting in multiple podium finishes.

 

Congratulations to Kira K who won both her Freestyle and Breaststroke events.

 Kira finished 2nd at Kingston Division in both events.
