Foundation

It has been an exciting first term for the Foundation students!
This term, our Foundation students explored our All About Me unit in STEAM. As part of their learning, students enjoyed an incursion called 'Happy Being Me', where they watched a performance about having likes and dislikes, making mistakes, and celebrating differences.
Following the incursion, the students reflected on what makes themselves unique, and wrote about their experience back in the classroom.
A highlight of the term was the students meeting their buddies and having various activities with them. One such activity was completing a Venn diagram with their buddies, which helped the Foundation students see how similar they are to their buddies while also recognising their differences. This understanding was further strengthened during Harmony Day, where students shared where their families come from and the languages they speak, reinforcing the importance of diversity. Students decorated crowns to mark the occasion.
Outside the classroom, another highlight of the term was meeting Frederick the calf! The Foundation students enjoyed feeding Frederick, as well as planting cucumber seeds - we can't wait to see them grow!
