Gandhi House

What an incredible semester from Gandhi House. This semester has been packed full of House events and it has been incredible to see such amazing Gandhi Spirit throughout each one. As we look to Semester 2, our Interhouse Athletics Carnival is the first event on the House schedule, being early in the term in Week Two.

In true Gandhi spirit, I am sure we will have excellent participation and passion as always. I would like to encourage all students to bring their best signs, banners and accessories in an effort to take out the Spirit Shield too.

Additionally, we will be competing in Battle of the Bands next term. If students would like to join the House Band competition there will be sign-ups on the House Board during Week One of Term 3.

I am sure we can continue our amazing momentum into Semester 2 with continued passion and participation. I would like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone back and ready for Term 3. Go Gandhi!

Lincoln House

Term Two comes to an end with Lincoln Charity Day! Once again it has been a lovely event, held at Supreme Court Gardens, where the students were able to participate in a variety of sports games and inflatables, as well as being able to sit with their friends and purchase food from different food trucks.

A short time before the event began, we reached our $1200 in fundraising for Headspace towards, which is fantastic! As always, I am floored by the generosity and good will of the St George’s community. For those who would still like to donate, the link will stay opened until the beginning of Term Three and can be found using the following link: 2024 Lincoln Charity Day Fundraiser.

As we look towards Term Three, we start offquickly with the Interhouse Athletics Carnival. This will be one of the last opportunities for our Year 12 students to contribute and earn big points for the House Cup, and of course their final Athletics Carnival. I actively encourage all students to get your running shoes ready and be involved on the day.

Thank you to all the Lincoln students, parents and staff who have supported Lincoln House in Term Two.

I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday and look forward to Term Three.

Mandela House

What a fantastic semester it has been for Mandela House! Our students have shown incredible spirit, dedication and talent across all various events, making this semester one to remember.

We snagged the Sync Swim event and took home the Spirit Shield at the Interhouse Swimming Competition. (And who can forget Hunter White in Year 12 swimming the events in a giant inflatable shoe?)

Our energy set the standard for the rest of the term.

The Interhouse Performing Arts Festival saw our students shine once again. Mandela House took home the overall event and dazzled everyone with an outstanding performance in the GLEE dance event, holding on to our crown.  Additionally, great participation in both House Weeks was a testament to our teamwork and perseverance.

Looking ahead, next term promises even more excitement with the Interhouse Sports Carnival in Week 2 and the Interhouse Battle of the Bands competition in Week 8. We encourage all students to participate and continue the legacy of excellence.

A heartfelt thank you to both Lincoln House and Gandhi House for making this semester so incredible and fun-filled.

Happy holidays!
