Social media age regulations

Families are reminded that the Social Media Minimum Age legislation will come into effect on Wednesday 10 December. Under this law, young people under 16 years of age will be prevented from creating or maintaining accounts on designated social media platforms.
If your family is impacted by this change, information and support are available at the eSafety social media age restrictions hub. The hub includes frequently asked questions, along with tips and resources to help navigate the transition.
It's important to remind your child that, regardless of their age, they can always reach out to you if they have a harmful experience online, even if it occurs on an age-restricted platform and they're under 16. You may also wish to share eSafety's help-seeking guide with them, available online here. For more information, visit eSafety.gov.au.
Bloom 2025
The Bloom festival held on Wednesday 26 November was a vibrant celebration of creativity, community and sustainability at St Mary’s College. Our College Green came alive with student showcases in Visual Arts, Design and Technology, alongside live performances in Music, Drama and Dance. The event brought together families, staff and students for an afternoon filled with interactive workshops, sustainability pop-ups and festive markets. Junior School craft activities, secondhand stalls and delicious food added to the welcoming atmosphere.
Bloom’s success was thanks to the generosity and teamwork of staff, students and volunteers. Their energy shaped every part of the festival, from planning to performing. The event also highlighted our students’ talents and the strong, supportive College community.
Thank you to everyone who made Bloom a celebration of our community at its best. We look forward to continuing to plant seeds of change, cultivate beauty and flourish together in the years ahead.
