As we approach the release of our final reports for the year, it is important to understand the different types of reports you may receive and what the various markings mean.
Kindergarten reports are provided as a hard-copy portfolio. These portfolios include samples of student work collected throughout the year and demonstrate how students have achieved the criteria within the Early Years Learning Framework.
Kinder Wallabies will bring their portfolios home on Thursday 11 December. Kinder Platypuses will bring theirs home on Monday 15 December.
Junior School reports (Prep–Year 6) will be available on Connect from Friday 12 December, and Senior School reports (Years 7–12) will be available on Connect from Monday 15 December.
The summative report offers point-in-time feedback on a student’s learning in their current year level, aligned to the achievement standards of the Australian Curriculum. As required by the Federal Government, each learning area is assigned a rating on a five-point scale. This scale reflects the depth of a student’s understanding, the extent of their knowledge, and the sophistication of their skills.

TASC courses are assessed using a defined set of criteria specific to each course. These criteria determine the extent of a learner’s achievement at a given point in time. Achievement for each criterion is recorded as A, B, or C, according to the outcomes specified in the course standards.
More information about TASC internal assessments and ratings can be found on the TASC website here.
VET units are reported using the standard VET Unit Ratings as follows:

All students from Prep to Year 12 also receive feedback on their application to learning, use of time and interactions with others. These areas are marked as either ‘needs attention’ or ‘meets expectations'.

I hope that you find this brief overview helpful in interpreting the upcoming report. If you have any questions about your child’s report, please do not hesitate to contact their class teacher, pastoral care teacher, or subject teacher as necessary.
