Leader of Year 7 Wellbeing
Ms Jennifer Allan
It has been a whirlwind of activity across Year 7 over the past few weeks. Our students have been working tirelessly in class, diving deep into their coursework and preparing thoughtfully for their upcoming assessment tasks. It is fantastic to see them building solid study habits, supporting one another, and tackling these academic milestones with genuine focus and determination.
Community Safety & Wellbeing
Alongside their academic focus, our Year 7 cohort recently participated in an important educational presentation hosted by Youth Engagement Officers from the NSW Police Force. The session provided valuable, real-world guidance tailored to students navigating their first year of high school. Officers discussed crucial topics including cyber safety, personal safety strategies when travelling to and from school, and the importance of maintaining situational awareness. Students also learned actionable ways to identify and report bullying, alongside clear steps on where to reach out for support if they ever feel unsafe or overwhelmed. Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to use this visit as a conversation starter at home to reinforce family expectations around personal and online safety.

Peer Leadership and GEM Sessions
On Tuesday, 18 August, our students took part in an inspiring peer mentoring afternoon facilitated by our Year 11 student leaders. Working in small groups, Year 11 guided Year 7 through interactive Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM) activities. The senior students did an outstanding job facilitating meaningful discussions, demonstrating empathy, and acting as exceptional role models. Seeing these positive peer connections flourish across the year levels was a wonderful reminder of what makes our school community so special.
Trivia in the Hall
To cap off the pastoral lesson, everyone gathered in the school hall for a lively trivia competition. The energetic event brought out fantastic college spirit, plenty of laughs, and a healthy dose of friendly competition. It provided a well-earned opportunity for Year 7 to take a break from their busy assessment preparation, bond with their peers, and simply have fun.
A massive thank you to our Year 11 students for their outstanding leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication in making the afternoon such a success!
