Reflection

Mr Stephen Mahoney

On Sunday, 6 September, we celebrate Father’s Day. Beyond the busy noise surrounding us all, this day offers a meaningful opportunity to pause and give thanks for our fathers and the many blessings they bring to our lives.

The greatest gift we can offer our fathers—not just on this day, but throughout the year—is the gift of time. Time to sit in their presence, time to listen to their stories and wisdom, and time to truly appreciate the unwavering love and support they offer us. For those whose fathers have passed into God's eternal care, it is a special moment to reflect with gratitude on the lasting impact, guidance, and love they continue to leave on our hearts.

We hold in a special way in our prayers all the fathers and grandfathers within our St Aloysius community who are currently unwell. May God keep them safe and comforted in His loving embrace.

Wishing all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures in our community a blessed and happy Father’s Day.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the gift of a father

Who has been an inspiration

Through his love and dedication.

Just as you sent your son to show the world

Your love for us as a father,

We pray that you will send your spirit upon fathers

That they may be strengthened as they strive to

Guide and support their family.

Amen.
