Sydney Athletics Championships

Our students delivered an outstanding performance at the recent Conference athletics carnival, achieving impressive results across a wide range of track and field events. Several athletes earned podium finishes, with record-breaking performances from Allegra Little highlighting a very successful day for our school. Congratulations to all students who represented the school with determination, sportsmanship and pride.

In the 12 Years Girls division, Amelia Dewhurst won the high jump and placed second in both the 800m and 1500m. Lila Smith was a standout performer, claiming first place in the 100m and long jump, while also finishing second in the high jump and 200m. Aria Simpson added to the success with a third-place finish in the 400m.

Congratulations to the Senior Boys OzTag Team for convincingly winning the Sutherland Shire Competition. The boys went into the final undefeated and continued their winning way by winning 6-2. They now progress to the State Cup Championships held on the Central Coast in early September. Many thanks to Mrs Aurelius for coaching the team throughout the day.

Interschool Snow Sports

Congratulations to Kara Emans (Year 11) (3rd in Division 1 Snowboarding Slopestyle) at the recent NSW Championships. This qualifies Kara for the National Championships held early September.

Congratulations also to Milan Goldsmith (Year 11) and Alvin Centeno (Year 7) for also qualifying for the National Championships. This is a wonderful achievement and the first time we have had students represent the college in snow sports on the National stage.

Tennis

Congratulations to both our Junior and Intermediate Boys Tennis Teams at the recent Gala Day. Our Juniors (year 7 + 8) played well and battled against some tough competition, with many teams made up of Year 8 boys, our team gained valuable experience and represented the college with pride throughout the day.

The Intermediate Team performed very strongly and qualified through their round games to qualify for the 3rd/4th position. In a tight game that came down to the wire, our boys were narrowly beaten and finished 4th. This is a wonderful effort as again, our Year 9 team played against many teams made up of Year 10 players due to the nature of the divisions.

Many thanks to Mrs Sampson for coaching and supporting them throughout the day.

Congratulations to the following boys:

Junior Boys: Carter Stickling, Harrison Curran, George Taylor and Tony Reid.

Intermediate Boys: Marc Edwards, Kingston McHugh and James Norton
