Year 9 Excursion to the Melbourne Holocaust Museum

Year 9 Excursion to the Melbourne Holocaust Museum

Year 9 students have recently visited the Melbourne Holocaust Museum as part of their Integrated Holocaust Unit in English and Humanities classes.

Students had the opportunity to spend time in the museum on a guided tour, seeing primary source material spanning the timeframe of the Holocaust and telling stories from many different locations and perspectives. This was consolidated further in the museum's classroom working in groups to unpack other primary sources from the time. We finished the day by listening to either first hand or through others, the testimony of a survivor.

One group of students had a particularly special moment when the testimony they heard was from Melbourne survivor, Sarah Saaroni, who they were researching here at school as part of their inquiry work.
