Author visit: Adrian Beck

Year 8 students who completed the Victorian High Achievers Program (VHAP) had an author visit on Monday, 1st of December. Adrian was a thoroughly entertaining speaker who regaled students (and teachers) with his exploits growing up (many of these have been used creatively in his writing) and his many career choices while keeping up with his writing.

Thank you, Ms Powell, our head librarian, for organising the speaker. Lots of laughs and astonishing AI facts enjoyed by all.

We enjoyed a visit from author/illustrator Adrian Beck this morning. He talked about his experiences as an author and introduced students to his new series, Villain, a high action thriller featuring malevolent AI entity, Z. This sparked some interesting discussion about technology and whether it’s a force for evil or good, before students set about turning their own story ideas into book blurbs. Adrian also set a riddle for students to solve – well done Sanuj who won the prize - a signed copy of Villain to take away. Our thanks to Adrian for his time and generosity!
