Science Showcase

Join Us for Our Science Showcase!
As part of National Science Week, we are excited to invite our families to celebrate our students' scientific learning at our Science Showcase.
When - Friday 14th August from 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm
This year's Science Week theme is Seeds of Science - Nurturing Knowledge for all! Throughout the next few weeks, students will participate in a range of hands-on investigations that encourage curiosity, observation and scientific thinking.
Foundation – Year 2
Our younger students will discover the amazing world of seeds through engaging activities including:
- Making a Cress Head and observing it grow and
- Sprouting a bean seed and recording changes over time.
Years 3 – 6
Our senior students will investigate how seeds adapt and survive in different environments through activities such as:
- Exploring seed dispersal and the different ways seeds travel
- Investigating what's inside a seed by examining its structure
- Sprouting seeds and making careful scientific observations and
Discovering how some seeds are adapted to germinate after fire, helping ecosystems recover following bushfires.
The Science Showcase is a wonderful opportunity for families to visit classrooms, view students' investigations and hear firsthand about their scientific discoveries. Students will proudly explain their learning, demonstrate their experiments and share the observations they have made.
We warmly invite all families to join us in celebrating the curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking of our learners. We look forward to seeing you at our Science Showcase on Friday 14th August from 3:00–3:30 pm.
