Commonwealth Games Day

We celebrated the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games at St Raphael’s on Friday the 5th August. Each Homeroom represented a different Commonwealth country which they proudly celebrated at the whole school Opening Ceremony. This was followed by a rotation of games and activities, including a chicken toss, sack race and obstacle course. The students won house points for their participation and sportsmanship. This was accompanied by a celebratory sushi lunch and indoor Commonwealth Games themed Maths activities. The students eagerly celebrated their classmates and chosen country and it was a fantastic day for all.

Writing Narratives

The students have been working hard on different elements to help plan and create their narrative. We have been exploring interesting story starters, the characters and setting, main events and problem and solutions. The students will work on satisfying endings to their narratives this week.
