Thank You!

Thank you to those parents who joined us for our wonderful library luncheon. More hands have meant many books are now covered and ready to shelve. I look forward to the next luncheon, watch this space! 

Book Club 

We’d love to see more members join Book Club this term. Come and join us in the library if you’d like to chat about books that you are reading and the latest releases in our collection. Book Club runs at lunch time every fortnight on Wednesdays. The next meet up is on Wednesday 9 November. 

Annie Ernaux Wins the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature

The Nobel prize in literature has been awarded to Annie Ernaux for “the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory.”

Ernaux, writes novels about daily life in France as well as non-fiction and becomes the 16th French writer to have won the Nobel to date.

The five key books by Annie Ernaux are: 

  • ‘Cleaned Out’
  •  ‘A Frozen Woman’ 
  • ‘A Man’s Place’
  •  ‘The Years’
  • ‘A Girl’s Story’

Library Expectations

  • No food and drink
  • No mobile phones
  • Laptop-free zone
  • Respect for students quietly reading 

Library Opening Hours

  • 10.00am – 3.00pm Monday to Wednesday including recess and lunchtime
  • 10.00am – 3.00pm Thursday & Friday for classes
