Y9/10 Poverty & Power

Term 3 PBL
For the Term 3 Poverty and Power PBL, students selected a country of their choice to explore one of the following issues:
- Food security
- Water and sanitation
- Human rights
- Disease (i.e., Malaria, tuberculosis, Ebola, etc)
- Child soldiers
- Poverty
- Child labour
- Human trafficking
- Civil war
- Natural disasters
Students spent time researching and analysing what factors caused the issue, how the issue impacts well-being and what trends in data tell us what the future could be like for that country. Students chose a variety of countries, such as Somalia, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone and South Africa. They presented their findings in a range of formats to educate others.
