Kildare Instrumental Music Parent Concert

Wednesday November 30 2022

Thanks to the parents who came to support their children’s performances on Wednesday November 30 2022. Well done to the students who braved the stage, reaping the rewards of making themselves vulnerable by sharing their gifts and passion for music. The stage is a great place for developing character because in front of an audience you see yourself as you truly are; there is no hiding. On the one hand excruciating and on the other exhilarating, the experience never fails to lead to serious self reflection and growth. The audience too grows… particularly for the parents of young performers.

Hopefully you were given new insight into who your child is and what they can achieve when they are passionately driven and prepared to put themselves on the line.

To optimise the experience of your performance, avoid comparing yourself to Spotify and consider asking the following questions…

  • What did I learn from the experience? (about myself, about performing, about my friends)
  • If I perform again, what will I do the same?
  • What will I do differently?
  • What will I do now?
  • Who could help?

Have a great break and we look forward to your renewed passion for making music in the coming year.
