Australian Mathematics Competition

Earlier in the year, 27 students participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition. Students were presented with a range of problem solving questions to solve individually in 75 minutes without calculators. The questions challenged students to draw on their mathematical knowledge and apply it to unfamiliar questions and scenarios. 

Congratulations to all students involved for putting their maths skills to the test! Six students achieved Certificates of Credit (Madeleine Gaiter - Year 9, Annalyse Gaiter - Year 10, Ned Mackay - Year 8, Charles Malone - Year 8, Ewan Middleton - Year 10 and Daniel Stanton - Year 8)  and two students achieved Certificates of Distinction (Artie Crozier - Year 9 and Thomas Smyth - Year 7). Some of these students are pictured above.
