Year 11 and 12 Art Excursion

At the beginning of Term 2, the Year 11 and Year 12 Art students went to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) to see the Alexander McQueen exhibition and to Australian Centre of Contemporary Arts (ACCA). We all went to see the history of Alexander McQueen's fashion and to gather an understanding of how curating an exhibition works. In this excursion Alexander McQueen (Mind, Mythos, Muse) first we were given a presentation then we saw his famous works of his fashion world, we saw how the runways were filled with his unique and curious designs.

After our break from when we finished Alexander McQueen, we went to ACCA and saw the exhibition mOthertongue and learnt how they curate and display things for making an exhibition come alive. There were tour guides who gave us the tour of the event and spoke to us about how to curate and the ideas that come into designing them. It was a very visual learning experience for all of us, and we had a lot of fun.  Analysing both exhibitions design and aesthetic was to help us prepare for our own mini exhibitions for assessment.
