Library

The Lyndale library is a hit with students, particularly at recess and lunchtime as they work collaboratively, relax playing Uno or read quietly.

What’s been happening in the library?

Throughout each year the library runs various competitions and brings a range of themes to the attention of the school through promotions and displays. Some examples from term 2 include Mental Health Awareness, IDAHOBIT, ANZAC Day, and Indigenous Art. The entries for our Mother’s Day Competition were of very high quality and showed off the talents of our students. Congratulations to Natasyah Akmal in year 12 for winning two hampers, one for herself and one for her mum.

We also welcomed students from local primary schools to participate in activities related to the story The Speedy Sloth for National Simultaneous Story Time. If the glitter scattered across the floors of the library was anything to go by, everyone had a blast.

In term 3 we look forward to celebrating Children’s Book Council Awards (CBCA). The CBCA theme this year is Read! Grow! Inspire! and we will be running competitions and activities with lots of great prizes up for grabs.
