We are excited to share the wonderful experiences and achievements of our students in the Mandarin program during Term 2. The students immersed themselves in the Chinese language and culture, exploring different topics.

In Term 2, our Mandarin students delved into the rich vocabulary related to family members and the unique culture related to Chinese families. Through interactive activities and engaging conversations, the students developed their language skills and gained a deeper understanding of Chinese family values.

To showcase their learning, the students created beautiful posters to introduce their families in Chinese. These visually appealing posters included sentences written in Chinese characters and vibrant illustrations. The students eagerly shared their family stories and confidently presented their posters to their classmates. This project not only strengthened their language skills but also fostered a sense of pride in their heritage and family background.

As the term came to a close, our Mandarin students engaged in a delightful end-of-term celebration by exploring the captivating world of Chinese painting. They learned about the unique features and techniques of Chinese painting, and specifically focused on the elegant subjects of orchids, bamboos, pandas, and plum blossoms.

Armed with Chinese brushes and ink, our talented young artists expressed their creativity and imagination on paper. They practiced brush strokes, paying attention to detail and capturing the essence of each subject. The classroom transformed into an art studio, as the students created mesmerizing artworks that showcased their appreciation for Chinese culture.

Throughout this celebration, our students not only developed their artistic skills but also gained a deeper understanding of the symbolism and cultural significance behind Chinese painting. It was a truly immersive and enriching experience for all.
