FReeZA Youth Committee

My name is Tuan and I facilitate City of Greater Dandenong’s FReeZA Youth Committee. FReeZA Youth Committee provides opportunities for young people aged 12-25 years to create, plan and deliver youth events across the City of Greater Dandenong. This program run’s weekly during the term on Thursdays between 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

As part of the committee, young people can:

• Become a registered volunteer with Council
• Volunteer at a range of local festivals and events that are drug, alcohol and smoke-free; and delivered in safe and supervised venues
• Develop skills across a range of areas including but not limited to:
• Event management
• Music and technical production
• Public speaking
• Customer service
• Develop their work readiness skills
• Plan and deliver events in the local area
• Be linked young people into other programs, events and further education or career pathways.

For young people 18+ we would assist young people to obtain their working with children check and their police check to ensure they would be ready to be volunteers for the council.
