JAPANESE INCURSION 2022

To support and enhance the Japanese program, the students enjoyed a Japanese incursion last week.

Prep – Year 4      Japanese Show-Four Seasons

Students learned about beautiful Japanese seasons and festivals. A Japanese performer, Aiko engaged them in learning about Japanese culture and the students enjoyed her ventriloquism, Japanese folktale, language games and dancing! 

Year 5 and 6      Kendo

*Year 6 will have the Incursion on August 22nd.

Students learnt about KENDO. KENDO is a Japanese martial art of bamboo sword training. A master of KENDO introduced it to our students, and they experienced some basic techniques and discipline of KENDO in a safe way. 

Students learnt that Kendo is not just hitting each other with a bamboo stick, but trains the mind and body!
