Glow Disco!

On Friday 5 August the Preps were very excited to come to school in their disco and white clothes, ready to dance the afternoon away at the BNPS Glow Disco.

The Preps excitedly got their faces painted and were each given a glow stick before heading over to the Year 5 classrooms. The parents had done such a wonderful job of decorating the space with glittery wall hangings and fluoro decorations and the disco lights and the ultraviolet lights made the space feel extra special.

The Preps danced along enthusiastically to songs like the Macarena, the Chicken Dance, Gangman Style and Baby Shark and even got to have a go at a conga line! Bop Till You Drop did a wonderful job of keeping the afternoon running smoothly.

We feel very lucky that the children are again able to experience these sorts of special events at school after 2 years of restrictions and thank everyone involved for organising such a fun afternoon!

Student Led Conferences

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, the Preps had a lot of fun showcasing their learning to their parents during the Student Led Conferences.

Beforehand, during class time, the Preps had had a look through their learning books and chose some pages they were particularly proud of and keen to show their parents. The Preps then practiced speaking about their chosen pieces, while their partner practiced listening and asking questions.

It was so much fun having our parents in the classroom and we could tell they were so proud of how far the Preps have come with their learning since the start of the year!

Japanese Incursion

The Prep students took part in a magical Japanese incursion called Four Seasons last week.  The students learnt about all of the beautiful Japanese seasons and about Japanese culture in general.

A Japanese performer by the name of Aiko engaged the students and supported them to learn some new Japanese vocabulary through the medium of folktales, language games and dancing.

Many students commented that their favourite part was when Aiko made her puppets speak via ventriloquism :-)

Thank you so much to Koji Sensei for organising such an engaging and enjoyable event!
