Dance - State School Spectacular

Congratulations to Charlotte Christie in year 12 who has been selected as a Principal Dancer for State School Spectacular 2023. We are very proud of Charlotte's achievement. 

Charlotte has been heavily involved in the dance community at Sandringham College from year 7. Most recently, Charlotte finished her Certificate III in Dance through the VET VCE Dance program. Charlotte has also been a choreographer for our Tap club and this year is completing VCE Dance through Virtual Schools Victoria. 

We are excited to follow Charlotte's journey in State School Spectacular and wish her all the best in this opportunity. 

Dance Showcase

The Mid-year Dance Showcase is fast approaching. Don't forget to secure your ticket to see the Showcase in early June.  This event will present routines from our Academy and VET VCE Dance Programs with students from years 7 - 12. 

VET Dance Industry Day 

VET Dancer's attended AusDance's Industry Day at The Space Dance and Art Centre at the end of March. This day was focused on providing students with the opportunity to learn different styles from experienced dancers and industry experts. Students took classes in Latin, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz and also participated in a 'Mock' audition. 

Where in the world is Frank Sparrow? 

Our Unit 1 and Unit 3 VCE Theatre Studies cohort has been hard at working bringing to life this quirky, gothic and 'other-worldly' script. Students are responsible for every facet of the production; from directing to set design, costumes, make-up, props, lighting, sound and, of course, acting. Their VCE task is to work collaboratively in two of these production roles, making choices, testing and trialing ideas, and refining their work... and it's nearly ready for performance to an audience.
