Year 8 boys tennis - Kingston champions

Athletics Carnival

What a fantastic day we had at Sandringham Athletics Track! The sun came out and the students were the ones who really shone.

Although the Star Wars theme wasn't popular with all, it was definitely enjoyed by some! Well done to Charley, Eddie and Dom who won our best dressed competition.

State Swimming Finals

We wish to congratulate Oscar and Sienna of year 10 who swam at the School Sport Victorial state swimming finals on Friday 28th April.

All events were streamed live online and there was some loud cheering coming from the PE teachers office that day!

Oscar won gold and Sienna won bronze, both in the 16 year old 50m backstroke events.

Year 8 boys tennis

Our year 8 boys tennis team won the Kingston Division in term 1 and on Monday 8th May then headed out to Pakenham with their coach, Miss Dowling to compete in the Southern Metropolitan finals. Unfortunately the competition was called off due to poor weather. This competition will be rescheduled to October, before the state finals in November.

Compass events

It is vital to understand that when students have agreed to be a part of an interschool sport team, there is permission required from parents/carers and a payment of $20 made. Students with CSEF are able to use this, but parents/carers need to contact the office to approve this.

A new deadline procedure will take place in term 2. If payment and consent are not made three business days prior to the event, the student will not be allowed to participate in the team. Extensions to the deadline will not be given except for extenuating circumstances. Students train very hard leading up to the event and student numbers have been selected specifically. If a team member does not meet the deadline, it could eventuate in the whole team not being able to compete.

Coaches speak to students and emails are sent to families reminding them of the deadline. We hope that by adhering to these due dates, there is less uncertainty leading up to interschool sport competitions.
