Meet our new Student Wellbeing Coordinator

Introducing... Julia Kefford! Julia will be the Year 9/10 Student Wellbeing Coordinator, and will also coordinate the Program for Students with Disabilities.

With a passion to make a difference in the mental health industry, I studied a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences followed by a Master in Clinical Counselling at the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne.

During my studies, I volunteered with primary school aged children with disabilities, running programs on social skills and resiliency. Toward the completion of my studies, I began working as a mental health facilitator, travelling across Victoria delivery programs in sporting clubs, primary and secondary schools as well as corporate businesses. More recently, I undertook a role as a School Counsellor at Melbourne Girls College before landing myself a position at Northcote High School.

Some fun facts about myself include: I have a 3 month old toy cavoodle named Charlie, who I adore, and I have done Irish Dancing for 15 years, where I travelled to Glasgow for the World Championships in 2018 and placed third.

I look forward to meeting everyone and making many new friendships here at Northcote High.
