Duke of Edinburgh

Congratulations

Congratulations to the following students who have successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award: Jacqueline Isles, Bridgette Gilley, Jasmine Young, Laura Mitchell, Maria Race, Madi McCahon, Alexandra Comey, Sophia Bryant, Bo Johnstone, Maya Bakin and Lilli Griffin.

They completed a Service to Community component as well as learning a new skill and increasing their participation in physical recreation pursuits to improve their physical well being.

They also completed the compulsory practice hike at Phillip Island last year and then successfully completed the adventurous journey at Wilsons Promontory to experience a team adventure in a new environment.

Through this challenging journey of self-discovery, The Duke of Edinburgh Award encourages students to:

  • Be equipped and empowered to achieve their personal best;
  • Learn to take responsibility for their goals and choices;
  • Become connected to and actively engaged within their immediate community;
  • Make a real difference to society through their positive contributions and involvement;
  • Learn to persevere and overcome barriers to success;
  • Learn important life skills; and
  • Increase their career opportunities.

Congratulations to all of the girls who have successfully completed the Award. We encourage the other Duke of Edinburgh Award students from other year levels to continue to work towards the completion of their own Duke of Edinburgh Journey.
