Justice and Democracy

Kildare Ministries Justice and Democracy Seminar

Last week ten students from the Year 9 Fire Carriers Group went to Clonard College in Geelong to attend the Kildare Ministries Justice and Democracy Seminar.

Students from all Victorian Kildare Ministries schools attended. The day started with a cultural dance and discussion, led by indigenous students from Clonard College.

Two local Indigenous elders shared stories and insights into culture and reconciliation. Both shared their experience of being a part of the 'Stolen Generation'. A highlight of the day was hearing Wathaurong elder, Norm Stanley, play and discuss the Digeridoo.

Thank you to the teachers, the organisers from Clonard College and the presenters for a wonderful day.
