From the

ICOM Library

From the Primary Library Team

The second half of term 2 has been a busy and productive one with literacy week being a highlight for both the students and the library team. With a huge selection of award winning books purchased specifically for this event it was a delight to see the students lose themselves in the stories and their imaginations.

Primary Events & Activities

We had the pleasure of hosting the author or the ‘Real Pigeons’ series, Andrew MacDonald, in our library this term, sharing his talent and knowledge with our students.

The library also ran a Literacy trivia during Literacy Week this year, with over 140 students participating it was a joy to watch them hunt through the library for the answers.

Primary New Arrivals

With education being paramount at ICOM, the library is committed to supporting the students on their academic journey, and this term we were excited to introduce a full range of science comics.

With these non-fiction topics told in such a bright and colourful way we have seen a big increase in borrowing of non-fiction titles. We love seeing students realise that learning can be fun!

From the Secondary Library Team

It’s been an exciting term in the Secondary Library, full of creativity and new arrivals. Whether you're a regular borrower or just curious, there’s always something new to enjoy.

The Secondary Library is more than just books. It’s a space for imagination, exploration, and connection.

Secondary Events & Activities

Our Creative Writing Competition has come to an end, and we were delighted by the talent on display. Students from all divisions submitted imaginative and thoughtful entries, congratulations to all who participated. Your writing was truly inspiring!

Secondary New Arrivals

We’re also excited to share that new books have arrived in the library. This term’s theme highlights the voices of Muslim authors, offering stories that reflect a wide range of experiences, cultures, and perspectives.

The new collection includes fiction, poetry, memoirs, and graphic novels, so there’s something for every kind of reader. We warmly invite students to visit the library, explore the new titles, and discover a story that speaks to them.
